in deutschland gibt es auch schon seit längerem eine zunehmende privatisierung des gesundheitssektors, mit bedenklichen auswirkungen für die bürger, und da es fast keiner mitkriegt (außer man wird richtig krank… und dann isses zu spät), fällt das für mich unter “underreported news”.

beim googeln helfen z.b. solche stichworte: rhön-kliniken +monopol +kritik. mal ein paar beispiele die beim googeln so rausfallen können:

- “Die Luft wird für den Rhön-Konzern dünn” (artikel der rundschau – massive probleme durch stellenstreichungen)

da kann man sich mal ein bißchen ein bild von der struktur machen, wer da so mitmischt (einige der üblichen verdächtigen)

- nachdenkseiten: “Die Privatisierungswelle im Krankenhaussektor nimmt erneut Fahrt auf” (das war zeitlich nahe der geplatzen fresenius-fusion)

- aertzeblatt(dot)de: “Montgomery warnt vor übermächtigen Gesundheitskonzernen” (war auch letztes jahr über fresenius)

I just wish the german would take more notice about all that, like the britains now do (?), it seems to me there is more awareness then here.

These cables have not just optical conductors but also electrical ones, that carry the energy for the repeater stations. Sharks can detect electrical fields (they use it to detect fish) and are attracted to these cables. I guess nowadays the cables might be made so that sharks cannot bite them through, but initially this was a problem.

Let me add a side note on the “womens class” of Dubai Metro. It is optional. No religious or whatever reasons. As a women, you can sit anywhere you wish, but if you wanted to travel in the “women and child only” part of the train (next to gold class) you could do so. Which is great, because it is often empty :)
I always enjoy the Dubai Metro. It is uber-clean and there is WIFI, I wish we had a public transport like that in Germany…

Of course they probably violated the Non-Proliferation Treaty and there is legitimate interest in preventing them from obtaining nuclear weapons. Still any quick glance into the history books and the Axis of Evil quickly turns into the League of Victims of Imperialism. Too readily overlooked, if you ask me.

Afterwards both can be called up for reserve duty once a year until they are in their late thirties (although legally it is allowed for males to be called to duty until the age of 54), but this doesn’t really happen every year and women are exempt, if the have children. After the early days of Israel, women were not in combat units until recently (e.g. in 2001 there was the first female jet fighter pilot).

As a born Indian I have to agree with you guys that the media only report about that horrible case, because that girl belonged to the middle class. Furthermore at the moment some politicians are talking about death penalty for this kind of crime. Some conservative even blame the girl and are recommending that Indian girls should only wear traditional clothes.
With these examples I want to show it is still a long way for Indian girls in all classes to archive equality.
I am sorry for my english it is not fluent. I grew up in Germany and my school english was really bad, with the help of some interesting podcasts, like yours I am trying to improve my English.

Wenn die alte Feed URL einfach gar nicht mehr existieren würde, dann hätte ich das auch schon früher gemerkt. Oder wenn Du eine Ankündigung als Podcast ins Feed vorher gestellt hättest. Oder wenn der self Link im Feed zumindest eine Zeit lang auf die eine der neuen URLs gezeigt hätte, dann hätte mein Client automatisch umgestellt (denk ich… zumal das ein atom Feature ist und das Feed eigentlich RSS ist bin ich mir nicht sicher ob ich diesen komischen Fall damals bedacht habe).
