Yes, i mean chess very unique figure i also find it fascinating she every supreme court judge has their. Career could be a very long career that's how you got it game the attention of those who president's and such indeed ruth bader ginsburg head really everywhere she went as from being a lost student, harvard in columbia to eventually working as a lawyer for causes that i know there's no money in it was it was social justice campaign in even within social justice campaign she would come up against people who are tell her not now let's not do this weather was issues for women weather was issues for minority's other minorities and ginsburg was always fighting and india in the nineties when she became a supreme court judges like wow add this person in it's amazing that we have someone like this and so it very unique figure maybe someone the likes of which will never see again. Also because she was even there we keep saying liberal wing liberal wing she was very look like any good judge really regardless of your politics she would listen to consider and she would, make a judgment wasn't i already know what the answer is i know what i should be i find when i listen to her speak and when i look at her opinions they weren't, those of someone who is pushing so cold political agenda if there was any agenda it was right right for all, end the sort of making sure that that is always paramount. But not often see if she was a progressive because i guess we arriving at a time where that's not common to have judges like that. Apparently the new standard is judges who are pushing some kind of agenda which i suppose looks like it's, open gonna be conservative we really sing the politician of the supreme court now it's always been political but now it's it's taking a really big turned becoming more political and it's i find it quit strange and that's also makes the passing ruth bader ginsburg even sadder because maybe the end of an era.

I mean roll is i think you have this is in germany of this most countries some kind of a high court that is going to rule on weather not policies past by generally congress daily hold up to the constitution and maybe beyond that but i supposed to be mostly towards the constitution says so over the years even more recently when obama was president is many of you will remember there was his health care act the affordable care act and it was past by congress i've course they were many cases trying to knock it down and eventually the supreme court roll on this matter and they said it so it is legal to do this and that makes a huge difference that means the program can go on and can exist of course more more legendary back from nineteen seventy three roe vs wade was the essentially the court case at the supreme court that said abortion is legal or, in other words there's nothing within the us constitution that says or anything towards yes or no for abortions that's a matter. Set the people i can decide themselves or state some level, no wait no states can't do anything about it federal basically ruling for all states to follow so we also seen historically the supreme court rulings on matters related to education access to education access to ballad of gay marriage not so long ago also supreme court ruled in favor of it so the supreme court has this power to make what become very socially impactful laws stick, stay so the abortion love for example abortion policy has remains since nineteen seventy three amazing amount of time for people to still be talking about possibly reversing it, list some politicians trying so the supreme court has this tremendous power on american society and how it either changes, what doesn't change a especially new programs new policies that might be considered and high what is the word, constitutional nono this a better word for it but a violation of the constitution and someway unconstitutional. Yes the word.

Are there approved by senate the world always nineteen nineteen kame in to play somewhere. In the early midnight queen hundred thirty fxmldr and fkj who had his no deal who was president for three terms the last president to be, to be able to do that attila change the law and he purposely did what's called court packing or expanded the supreme court. So that he could nominate judges to help him pass elements of the new deal which were. A new whole new thing as the title suggests some people don't overstepping his bound so he needed the supreme court to rule, it's not very cool democratic bonita that supreme court to support his policies so it became a nine judge panel, end this is also interesting it doesn't have to stay nine judges the us doesn't seem like a place these days that is gonna make, any kind of changes in favor of progressive politics but it would be possible for example if bison becomes president to expand the court crazy by the way if he expends the court what's the next president does this become a new, sing a trends but yes it's it's nine judge's and their certainly one see it now that is up for a nomination, apparently by our current president trump and it looks he's doing it is nominating i don't know when the vote happens it's happening. More quickly certainly than the democrats wanted and that relates also back to the the end of alabama administration when. Obama could have nominated someone ten months, before leaving of survival heard this story now but there it is you know what they do to guys. Now you're not stalling of course of a lot of democrats are calling fall. And sing this is horrible when it was our time we didn't do such a thing not fair is basically the call that's being showed across the.

I originally win when are we go died i thought, do not gonna do it because there's a few let's call them rebels their not they haven't been rebels but they they know are republicans in the senate who aren't with trump, for various reasons including having been constantly offended by him in the case of ramones ramen has been insulted over and over again, by this president is no friend of donald trump and so someone like him, what easily not vote with trump easily he's not gonna do it is already said he will actually vote, for whoever trumpets forward sort of choosing party over never mind what the president said about me there others and iglesias house key in alaska this is the last few weeks even of of being a senator that retiring or so. Decoded been and they still could be republicans that suprises, i don't go with trump but unfortunately there have been enough statements from these various potential no votes that are coming out saying no favors so it doesn't look like, there's enough vote to turn the tables of the majority republican senate and you still got if there were a tie the vice president gets to vote. So i don't even looking around the articles for any kind of way that this is gonna be stopped and i still can't see it. I mean the reason national outcry that people are very annoyed, add this is happening that were using the quotes from mitch mcconnell during the end of the obama administration who said. Supreme court at the new judge faith preme court should be chosen by the voters in this next selection.

I need yes i don't know if there gonna look their more focus on getting the presidency and then maybe in my look ladies and gentlemen for listening i am not a political analyst i'm not a professional at this but, i do feel the democratic party is focus on getting the presidency that mobilize people towards this end. Everything else has been put to the side and i think that even winning the senate the mighty fall victim to this whole thing will see cause we didn't you and i, set that were close that might be one there's a this summer games to be made but i don't know that when this election is over there predicted to actually control the set it so we're gonna have a bit and presidency, end potentially a slightly republicans by two seater something else senate i don't know what happens when i need to become like an obama presidency many people will say yeah i miss those days but it doesn't bothwell for the supreme court, for the decisions there gonna be made on specific issues trump things you know what i mean trump thanks a lot of things you shouldn't taken two seriously but you think that there could even be, the helios open two abortion being declared ilegal but you know that would need certain case climb to the supreme court. For people who are panicking. I would point one thing out an internet turn back to you tube people often think of every judge s being liberal or conservative. End that it seems like their all wearing that bag openly now or least accepting this is kind of tag. We have seen supreme court justices who were actually considered conservative nominated by eden recently like trump and they rule in favor of so cold more let's say liberal policies we've seen it on a few vote, i'm saying is not saying that makes me everyone should sleep well at night but judges do not always vote the way we label them not owe, subdue scalia was legendary for it but the we do have some judges that even bother considered conservative they don't always go conservative you know this is not a lot of hopex hang on too but it's something. You're still a judge.

That's a good point, i look that look i looked at the other candidates from the third parties because that's really fun that's more for the congressional race. Set it doesn't matter where you live for congress. So no that i know you could you could just get people to vote in certain numbers larger numbers better where they live in the state of you could you could, can happen anywhere really impacts these races both congressional and senate is when population shift for example. Take north carolina south carolina for more than a decade people from the northeast new jersey new york has been moving down there some to retire but also some for work because the northeast crowded end their deciding to go south along the coast of two start a life somewhere else there's a lot of companies down there and work for these big corporations so this can shift your let's say once very solidly democrat sally republican conservative state to be more. Liberals let's see maybe not progressive so that's where will see some of the staves change arizona it makes sense to some extent that arizona changes because the population is changing i think is, when you're a state where lot of retired people go i could go either way you could become more conservative florida is confusing because it's a lot of retired people but it's retired people with different kinds of politics but not retired teachers have a different voting patterns than retired cops. So there is no that's why states are changing weather not is this election, this could be a sign for future elections as population shift continues.

Yeah it's it's very minutes is long and set to be very likely but yes that is something i mean, there we say well the party weathers democratic or republican party their also trying to get with the trains so we just had the announcement on the brianna taylor of verdict which basically said that they cops were not guilty of a murder romance louder as it works there was a attorney general sorry his name is skates me right now but he's a very young thirty four. Is a republican he's black and a lot of people within the republican party say he is the future of the party so another words conservative. But not whiteman a young black men so for them anyway this is how their so cold trying to keep the numbers of people that support their party while still being conservatives i mean if anybody really bothered to watch the republican convention event they ruled out all kinds of people who made you don't normally see representing the republican party because their trying to both recruited but also show, is that their down with the changes in the country i think the democrats have long been much. I'm gonna say much better at that but it's not a game now it's it's just simply it is the party of has been the party of immigrants of minorities because the other party isn't so it's a struggle now for both parties in their way of of embracing the changes i'm this is part of why never really worry i just told you i'm voting in the new jersey election but its far is the presidency this, does not really much chance that any republican. For the presidential scale around city girls possible but is going to win new jersey is a state of mostly. People who have arrived in the last twenty to thirty years of they vote democratic, and we see that all the big cities on the coast and around the lakes.

Yes i have a friend is down in new mexico end enjoy signing up for trump newsletters just give me an idea how this campaign works he signed up for any kind of trump campaign email social media subscribes he's made it his business to be a trump, supporter on paper. Is not actually trump supporter any sense even on his twitter account which is private but he shows us images of the messages that come in in what you see is i mean it some crazy text in my appointment of course it's all things about how bitten is gonna destroy america about how the left wing is gonna use this old man biden as a puppet. The only way to stop it i mean it starts to sound like you on spotify donald trump is this savior he's going to protect us because our country is under attack again as i said before same thing is said in russia generally speaking russia is under attack by the rest of the world putin help protect russia otherwise we get eaten alive by i don't know outsiders so you know trump's supporters think that their under attack i really think they believe this that's why they so violently in so enthusiastically put themselves. On the line or please go vote and stands in counter protest there is this it's emotional it's all emotional, which is why when i saw you facts or women anyone doesn't investigation the problem is that is facts versus emotions and at least in the united states emotion seem to win. People vote based on this emotion including the emotion of i hate this guy. I hate this other guy i hate this president you know it this is where were at. No idea with a democracy was that you are an informed, public well-educated public would you can get through an education maybe public education idea and media is good point. We see the there's a mother force involved in motion and that is a very powerful forested oftentimes the stronger than emotion stronger than fact or education or what is education anyway it is zoom call.

Yeah i mean is always many places to look in europe i'm on one corner right now but i really felt like we i mean we've seen it to the last few months the last few weeks already we have the situation of refugees living including places like lesbos on the island of lesbos and moriah camp we had the fire the major major fire which destroyed the morio camp and display tens of thousands of people and their they are stuck on an island an island where they don't have any place go for a week or more they were living just on the road, hi bot when i look at you just like a major road regardless their living on the street out in the open the greek military was has been present trying to stop, people from being able to go into town's people are trapt and trapt not much in the greek plan headband and his to build another camp of course the government will say this one will be, better than house work people. Add it'll be safe of course refugees will say first of all the camp we were just in was hell we don't want to live like that anymore a lot of the outcry from refugees has been you know what we don't want this we don't want this we dont wanna go to europe anymore send it home at least that's what i said on on signs any of ccr number interviews conducted by a good friend of mine who's been on the island and again even if they want to go home that's not an option so you are a, effectively a prisoner on this island where a lot of greek people hate you or just don't want you, there so the island itself has a population that lose live certainly have been impacted by the presidents of of the people, any such it's just break my heart like it's just so disappointing and europa union. I don't see much different now the initial response i think it was. Combination with germany was involved i think number other countries that was the will take the unaccompanied teenagers four hundred people so small hungry. Who their allies these days are but they don't want anyone have a hardline approach to this they put up fences they put a policies baskets say we're not involved any kind of solution and so it seems to me anyway that your opinions does not much on this front you know i think they send food and water their good with sending some money to do projects but not much else in the great government, my my heart goes out to them too cuz i don't think they no quit what to do and they're always kind of what is it called reacting instead of proactively doing something constructive sort of ok what now what now here something here something so i actually in the last week find the news about moriah camp is less visible, is anyone for one or two weeks are you really could get a lot of information about people that how their doing and i just think this is one of the great tragedies you know what we think about the pandemic and koven more than five years people just pact into a k camp on island and their other places in europe in italy as well there are refugee centers and it's a it's one of these change of humanity in my opinion and i don't don't quite know if i run charge. How successful i would be at managing this but still a pretty sure we can do better situation.

I mean it's it's so many elements of this also interesting complicated fast living you know i've known people who work with refugees here in portugal. Add specially twenty fifteen time warp portugal token i don't know a couple hundred i'm i'm saying every small amount but ok it's portugal and what i was told was for many refugees that lived here they had housing refugee center at least the beginning but things are so difficult the stephen they got to start with so small and when they did find small employment the small here that many people thought this is i need to get somewhere better. No that's interesting things with your up as well it's amazing in many ways like germany is the shining example of what people want to go. I'm not saying they won't go anywhere else but it's. I am in all of it the way people in a week or acropolis now stories of america everybody wants to go to heaven live there still people out there that look to america sort of i want to go to the united states in true life but is impressive. Sometimes sad to see the interviews with refugees in this camp for five years that learn german and it never been to germany that really cid germany as this place where life could be better i mean it's amazing how that happened in these images that inspire people, almost to the detriment to put their lives at risk cabin watching this summer and i'm sure menu few people, out there have is well they have been the new stories of people has they have for years crossing from friends to the uk. Any i guess its been a pretty good summer for being able to try that as a great risk always and you know it in the uk it's around the government anyway and says. No people you must know they're shock that all these people are coming across the channel cuz are not in europe anymore but you know these places have these. Choose. Images around the world as beacons you know where you can go where life is better with you of a chance no matter what happens these began survivor no better see me later how, hashtag the risk is it so hard about humidity like you risk it all, for this and i don't know you know sometimes when i look at the european union if they did do a response where indeed portugal take her people i don't know if if you know refugees would go. Ok good no no i want to make a better life also but indeed with the situation on maria is so bad that you could. Maybe say no more visitation we'll go anywhere but here which is seemingly what what happened including i'll go back to my home country things are. Dangerous terrible. No so this is just i don't know anything just doesn't seem like any new solution is coming it's the same old song people in camp, living in the netherlands even being here in portugal i don't know that people want to know, again emotions it's easier not to get emotional about something if i don't think about it and if i don't have to look at it. So you park people in greece on an island and don't think about it, for five to ten years it's strange thing about what's possible with people like you can just not think about it we'll be okay cause if we really thought about it, every day we won't be able to live with it we would have to do something to improve the situation. Set an r silence in much of your opinion in my opinion.

Ok i did not know that i know i can tell you about look at these things probably existing every country weather not we pay attention but it has come to my attention in the netherlands. Having been understand form it's not really lockdown but you know. Lockdown let's say for the four five months until businesses were sort of opened again released restaurants in certain places open again in june, there has been this movement mostly social media wise of famous people i wanna say influencer artists who use the hashtag i'm not in love i'm out count me out and it's been a about, i don't want to take part in the government's measures they say things like free the people in english they say this they say, the government needs to be rained in under control because their measures have been out of control and it's this weird trends but it's also for me not surprising because, especially young people who haven't felt the impact of corona and for into, what you name it performances bars and pubs in clubs that india are having trouble in terms of being able to do their thing to earn a living and so forth there there now coming out in large numbers and kind of, getting a following of people who are just using catchphrases to say i'm out on this whole, coronavirus things and it's it's created a big argument debate on the national level in the netherlands but. For me a reflex something that have kind of known about quietly in the country in our prime mentioned in the last program that there a lot of people in. Even a place that seems so practical as a netherlands not really into a lot of the measures not necessarily keeping these practices for example masks no way the government doesn't even strongly push for masks but not doing it distancing not touching one another, if you're remotely known to one another your friends people are touching each other perfectly is the always did hurt people look at the needless to say no but there's a practicality they're not going inside their outside was better, could be the case but i definitely see this resistance and now we have the spice going on in the netherlands and in belgium any you know it neil young people who are contracting the virus or spreading the virus end it just a weird day i consider it a sort of privileged it's it's just that you haven't been affected and you think you're invincible or at least you been told that get it your gonna be fine and we're seeing the start of results of that i am in portugal since week now, mom and it's such a different scene i mean i'm not in the capitol which has higher numbers but people are so cautious masks everywhere i can't go anywhere without someone insisting that slaughter my hands and jill every every time i go in any kind of a shopping or whatever place. This country doesn't even have the numbers or like outside of the capitol that that country does it never ends does with that yet people are just first love really scared ok, any other things there's a tradition in portugal of being very respectful of whitney medical officials say it's almost old fashioned like. I don't study medicine i don't like the doctor said to do i'm gonna do it and that's very predominate here in portugal. So weird time in the coronavirus kinda like a little push back after maybe being cooperative for sixty seven months in the netherlands i mean us we've seen push back since the beginning it's just weird to see where behavior collective behavior goes over the next. Few months two years i don't know what to say but the next time coming up what people do what people demand.
